1 Other health impairments include having limited strength, vitality, or alertness due to chronic or acute health problems such as a heart condition, tuberculosis, rheumatic fever, nephritis, asthma, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, epilepsy, lead poisoning, leukemia, or diabetes.
2 Based on the total enrollment in public schools, prekindergarten through 12th grade, by race/ethnicity. For total enrollment in public schools by race/ethnicity, see table 203.50.
NOTE: Data include only those children served for whom race/ethnicity and type of disability were reported. Although data are for the 50 states and the District of Columbia, data limitations result in inclusion of a small (but unknown) number of students from Bureau of Indian Education and Puerto Rican schools. For these reasons, totals may differ from those shown in other tables. Race categories exclude persons of Hispanic ethnicity. Detail may not sum to totals because of rounding.
