The Crime and Safety Surveys Program is primarily composed of two data collections: the School Survey on Crime & Safety (SSOCS) and the School Crime Supplement (SCS) to the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS). The SSOCS reports on crime and safety at school from the perspective of principals, while the SCS reports on crime and safety at school from the perspective of students. NCES provides access to over 30 years of crime and safety survey data and publications, including the SSOCS and SCS, offering the public invaluable information about crime and safety in schools in the United States.
